The department is estimating the value of his property. The house of Raghava Chary, the lawyer of Gali, was also raided by IT department. However, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Yeddyurappa, declined to comment on the matter as he had no clear information.
The officers of the rank of Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Inspector took part in the raids. It is believed that the information on the raids was leaked to Gali brothers earlier and key documents were made safe. It is reported that a huge penalty may be imposed on Gali Janardhan Reddy by IT department based on the evidence found in the raids.
The TDP leader Revanth Reddy welcomed the raids and said that the brothers were trying to dominate the politics with the illegal earnings from their mining business. It may be recalled that Gali has vowed to eliminate Congress from the south in the past and the raids are the result of this. However, the BJP leaders were upset over the raids and seeing the raids as the acts of revenge. It may be confirmed that the support of Gali brothers is crucial for the survival of the BJP government in Karnataka.
