This movie from Prince Mahesh coming after a long gap and that raised the bar. There has been an argument about the title as well, finally the movie name changed to “Mahesh Khaleja”.
GK (Prakash Raj) is a famous business man and wanted to setup a plastic factory in a village called “Paali”. There he finds iridium ore which is more worth than gold and his eyes now fall on this. He tries to get his son married to the local leader’s (Tanikella Bharani) daughter to get hold of land. Now the hero (Mahesh) who is a cab driver somehow ends up in the village. All the villages assume that he came to rescue them. The rest of the plot is how the hero rescues them from GK.
In nut shell, the story is not very new. Writer turned director Trivikram made “Athadu” that showed Mahesh in a different dimension. He tried the same approach and succeed in that. However the entire screenplay is not to the levels of “Athadu”. Mahesh looks fresh stylish. Dialogues are as usual trivikram style and same goes with comedy. It is made with about 35 crores and not sure if the cost is justified.
